Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Attendance: 43 members were in attendance.

Apologies: Jim Donaghy, Ian Murray, Reggie Patterson and John White. (4)

The President, Des Moore, welcomed members to the meeting together with guest Colum McCluskey. The President then introduced this morning’s speaker the Revd. Dr. Stanley Gamble the topic of his talk and presentation being “St. Patrick.”

A vote of thanks, proposed by John McKegney, was passed to Stanley by the President. The members showed their appreciation of an interesting and timely talk.

Weekly Business:
Minutes: The minutes of the 6th March 2018 were read, approved by the members and signed by the President.

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.

Correspondence: None.

Reports
Social: Joe Alcorn asked members who are going to the Club Lunch at The Lodge Hotel on Tue. 27th March to sign the lunch attendance sheet. Include guests where appropriate.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten reported that Jim Donaghy is in the Causeway Hospital. Leo was asked to pass the good wishes of the members to Jim.

Treasurer: Nigel Semple will be available after the meeting to receive any membership subscriptions..

1. Probus All Ireland Rally on Tue. 15th to Thurs. 17th May 2018, venue the Brandon Hotel Tralee. Members hoping to attend the Rally should speak to the Secretary as soon as possible. Final date for returns 3rd April 2018.
2. Probus Magazines, Springtime edition, is now available from Ken Parkes.
3. Committee Meeting. A committee meeting will be held on Tue. 20th March.

The next speakers meeting will be on Tuesday 20th March, and the speaker will be Victor Fails on the subject of “The Institute of Advanced Motorists.”

Closing Remarks: The President thanked members for attending and looked forward to seeing them at the next meeting.
