Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 19th November 2013

Attendance: 41 members were present.

Apologies: Jim Archer, Leo Dolan, Dermot Jennings and Robin Semple (4)

Club President Graham Kane welcomed club members to the meeting and then introduced our new member, Norman Gallagher and presented him with his badges and club documents. The President then introduced our speaker for the morning Dr. Keith Munro, who talked about, and showed a 45 minute video of, the Foyle Hospice. A brief summary of this talk is available in the Speakers Record Book, and on the club web site, for members' interest. A vote of thanks was proposed by Graham MacDonald and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the meeting on 12th November 2013 taken as read (due to the extra time of the talk).

Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda

Correspondence: None.

Social: Jim Gordon updated members on the special 25th Anniversary buffet meal at the Lodge. Jim said that he now assumed that all who wanted to attend had now booked their seats. If there were any additional names, please let him have these ASAP.

Welfare: Cecil Spotten said the there was nothing to report on this week – we had a healthy membership!

Treasurer: Nigel Semple said the accounts were in order and there was nothing to report.

A O B: 1. Ties - The Secretary had the ties ordered, members were asked to collect their ties after the meeting. The cost was £10 per tie.

Next Meeting: Would be the Anniversary lunch – please be at the Lodge Hotel around 12 noon on 26th

Next Speakers Meeting: Would be on 3rd December, where the guest speaker would be Mr. Ian Wilson, who would talk about his experiences as a museum curator.

The President reminded members that todays talk would be the charity for the 'retiring collection' for our 2013 Probus Year. A collection basket had been placed at the back of the room by the 'badge box' for donations.
