Minutes of the meeting of Coleraine Probus Club
Held in Portstewart Golf Club on Tuesday 22nd January 2013

Attendance: 37 members were present.

Our President Ross Torrens welcomed members to the meeting and then introduced our speaker for the morning, Dermot Gordon. Dermot gave an exciting talk, slide show and short video presentation about sailing from Gran Canaria to St. Lucia in an Atlantic Rally. A summary of this talk is available on the ‘Probus Speakers' page for readers interest. A vote of thanks was proposed by Graham Kane and was passed on by the President. The members showed their appreciation.

Minutes: The minutes of the meeting on 15th January 2013 were read, agreed and signed.
Matters arising: None not covered by the agenda.
Correspondence: None

Social: Jim Gordon reminded members that there would be no club lunch this month, as the AGM would be on the last Tuesday in January. Next lunch would be Feb 26.
Welfare: Tony Smyth said there was nothing to report this week
Treasurer: Nigel Semple said that he was finalising the accounts for auditing.

A O B: AGM 29th January: Members were reminded that this meeting was the last chance to submit items for the AGM. The Secretary confirmed that he had received two items.

NEXT MEETING: Would be the AGM on 29th January,

NEXT SPEAKERS MEETING: Would be on 5th February, when the speaker would be Norman Irwin, with part 2 of his wartime experiences.

The President said that he looked forward to seeing everyone at the AGM, and hoped that the room would be a good deal warmer then!
